Behind the Business Rebrand: Why the Split?

It has been a hot second since we’ve shared a blog post, and the reason why is because we have been in the midst of a big rebrand. Super exciting. That's what this post will be about. It's going to be talking through the rebrand and essentially why I’m splitting my business into two different divisions.

It has been a very, very, very long summer and a very long journey into this rebrand. What first started out as, “Hey, let's go ahead and kind of rebrand all of our fonts and colors” turned into a full rebrand, a full splitting of business, a full change of website platforms, a full change of email platforms. Literally changing everything that we do, which has been a journey and I'm so excited about it. It's really setting us up for the next season of our business.process, and so shout out to Felicia, who has been really my go-to person in all of this. She's my executive assistant and has done an amazing job through all of the things that we have going on.

The Story Behind the Rebrand

To kind of recap before I go into the split and the rebrand, September 17th, 2023 was our three year anniversary. And over the past three years, we have grown into something that I never would've imagined us growing into. The business has had very steady and healthy, but fast, growth and it's something that has continued to grow. When I first started, I had this vision of me having a couple clients working on my own, really being more of a freelancer. I had my  LC set up, I had my EIN, I had all the legal stuff set up for a business, but I was really going to just be like a freelancer.

It really quickly grew into something else, which doesn't really surprise me 'cause I've always had a big entrepreneurial mindset. If you know a little bit about my story, my parents have business and it's really been kind of who I am in a way. But I really started seeing opportunities come and present themselves in front of me. And it continued to grow and grow and grow and grow. And now I can really say like, it's not just about me. And so really, ethically and morally, I'm like, I can't be operating off of just LoriAnn Kuntz LLC. I now have a team of amazing women behind me that is helping get this stuff done and really helping us grow the business. And I want to give them credit for that. You can see them on my old website, but operating under LoriAnn Kuntz LLC  just didn't feel right for me at least.

And so we are now moving into Profit Priority. All of the done-for-you bookkeeping, all of the DIY spreadsheets, all of the done-for-you bookkeeping bundled with CFO work is going to be operating under Profit Priority. We're also gonna be able to roll out some new offers and some new things coming up in the next few months, and I'm sure years to come. I'm super excited to bring on our first full-time employee as well. Maddie has been with us for a while, but now will move to full-time as our Ops Assistant + Strategist. She’ll be helping with our CFO clients so we’ll be opening up more spots for CFO services as well. I'm sure we'll continue to grow our team. Right now there are five bookkeepers, one executive assistant, and then myself as the CEO. I love my team so much. They're incredible. And it's really kind of why I wanted to grow this into something else.

Our Mission + Values

So our mission is to really help business owners feel peace about their finances. getting rid of all the yucky feelings and that shame. We don't like that. We're gonna be able to do that by helping them find clarity on their numbers to really make the decisions they need to increase their profit, gain confidence and clarity through bookkeeping and financial services. We offer DIY stuff, one-time audits and strategy sessions, done for you bookkeeping, and the CFO work for our higher level clients.

Really what we wanna see is just more and more entrepreneurs (not just in the creative space) take ownership of their finances. That will then allow them to achieve their goals and dreams in both their personal and business life. Our team takes a holistic view on things. We want to see what you want in your personal life. We want to see what you want in your professional life and how we can integrate them together. And we really dive deep into this with our CFO clients. But even with our done for you clients or the clients that we do strategy sessions with, we talk through, “What do you want, what are your values? What do you want in your personal life? What are your goals in your personal life?” Because really your business is gonna be supporting that. Yes, you have to have your finances separate. Yes, you have to have your checking account separate. But the business you are creating right now is going to be funding and helping you accomplish those goals and dreams in your personal life.

Some really big things that we value are first, quality. We value quality work. We are very diligent in what we do and how we do it. We review stuff. There's multiple steps on making sure that things are getting done properly and accurately.  We value transparency in numbers, so we want you to see exactly what your numbers are telling you. Sometimes it's not always fun. Sometimes it's not always a good thing to hear, but that's what we're here for. We want to alert you and tell you, “Hey, this is what's going on. This is what your numbers are telling you.” Sometimes it's more like, “You are doing an amazing job in your business and really just keep doing whatever you're doing because it's incredible.”

We want to empower you with your finances, so we want to get away from that shame, financial culture that kind of talks down to you because you might not understand something or you might not be where you think you're supposed to be at. You might not feel like you're doing well with finances. We really want to empower you that you are 100% capable of going after your dreams. You're 100% capable of understanding your finances. You're 100% capable of making sure that you're taking care of your finances, and we're here to support you with that.

Reliability. We make sure that our reports are out on a consistent basis. We make sure that we are here for you. If you have any questions, we make sure that we get back to you. We want to make sure that the communication is really good and that you can ask us anything. You can think of  us like your trustworthy, bookkeeping BFF partners ;) Simplicity and education. So those go hand in hand.  We really want to make sure that whatever we're giving you, however we're helping you, whether it's the DIY spreadsheets, whether it is strategy calls, whether it's done for you bookkeeping, or CFO services, it is outlined in a simple way. People might not know what all this accounting jargon and language is, and we break it down for our clients in a way that's easy to understand, but gives them the things that they need to have in order to make the decisions they need to make. Through that, we're basically educating you on what your finances are telling you.

Again, we just really want you to feel peace, confidence, and really be empowered by your numbers instead of being scared about them. I don't like when people are scared of their numbers because it's really a big information source that could help you grow your business forward in a really big way. So that's a little bit about Profit Priority, our brand, our mission, our vision, and why I am pulling that away from LoriAnn Kuntz LLC. I want to go forward with more of a team brand, instead of just a ME brand.

What’s happening with LoriAnn Kuntz LLC?

With that being said, LoriAnn Kuntz LLC is not going anywhere, it's gonna be its own division. I am going to be leaning really heavily into business mentorships and public speaking. In Q4 in 2023 I have three speaking engagements that I am speaking at, and I really wanna lean into that a little bit more. I also really want to lean into business mentorships more. I found that with me being involved in finances and seeing into a ton of other businesses (what's working, what's not, how they're doing) and growing my own business, there’s a lot I’ve learned. Going through all of the hurdles of starting out, getting your first clients, losing clients, having hard client conversations, creating new systems and tech stuff, growing a team and hiring, etc. I can now say that I feel like I'm getting out of that new business stage and we're kind of coasting right now. We're getting ready to go into a really big growth phase, but I feel really good about it. We're not new anymore and we have all our systems in place.

But part of me mourned that early stage. I started taking on mentorships because I have been asked a lot by a lot of other bookkeepers that are just starting their businesses and in those beginning stages. At first I said no, but then I started taking 'em on because I love growing businesses. I love the founding years, the beginning stages, all the things. I have definitely learned my fair share of lessons and I really want to be able to help educate other people and help them grow their business because it's been the biggest blessing that I ever could have had. And so for me to be able to step into the role of helping other people get to the point of what you want and where you wanna go, is incredible.

So that's really kind of where I am leaning into on the LoriAnn Kuntz side of things. I think public speaking is a great way that I can help people more in person with financial management, understanding your finances, and having financial clarity. And then having Profit Priority with the done for you side of things, and really leaning into fractional CFO work as well. So I've been doing that on the side for some people and basically for larger organizations that have maybe their own bookkeeper on staff or that have their own part-time bookkeeper, whatever it might be. Or maybe they've outsourced to another bookkeeper that doesn't provide CFO work. I have enjoyed that as well and I'm looking forward to doing more work on that side of things. So anyways, that's kind of the two branches that this is kind of evolving into. I'm very, very, very excited about this.

It's been a long time coming. I'm excited to share with you guys more as I continue to learn and grow from this experience and kind of step into the next season of the business. I think there's some really exciting and fun things coming, so stay tuned. For bookkeeping and financial advice, you can follow us at Profit Priority. If you are here for more everything included, you can still follow me at LoriAnn Kuntz as well!
